Heading Home

We had a sort of project ending, team recognition, goodbye Jerry (get outta here, ya bum) get together on Tuesday evening.  The restaurant, La Petite Saints (The Little Saints) is a former church, and the food was excellent.

The early birds milling around.

Didier, Avi, Karine, Philippe, and Malissa

Els, Francois, Luc, Nicolas, Stephan, and Christophe

Stephane, Celine, Christophe, Olivier, Yves, and Virginie

Virginie, Sonia, Clotilde, and Willa

Great get together.  I lack the words, believe it or not, to express my appreciation for these folks and how kind they have all been toward me.

Is that a Frenchman?
Of course, my last night in Nantes has to be spent at my favorite pub.

Good friends wishing me well.

Little Eloise breaks my heart.  She's crying because I'm leaving, and I'm trying not to cry because I'm so moved by this wonderful little child.  I've committed to attend her high school graduation if at all possible.

And, fittingly, my last photo in John McByrne's is of Dave, Juan, and John at the bar.

On all my trips into town for a year and a half, I've loved passing this school by the tram line at Boulevard de Doulon.  It is only fitting that my last picture of Nantes be of this delightful little building.

The next morning at Charles De Gaulle airport

And I'm outta here.
